Bordoodle

About the Breed

The Bordoodle is a hybrid dog breed that is a result of crossing the Border Collie and the Poodle. This designer dog was created to combine the intelligence and energy of the Border Collie with the loyalty and low-shedding coat of the Poodle. The Bordoodle is an active, intelligent, and friendly breed that makes for a great family pet. Appearance Bordoodles have a medium to large frame, with males typically standing between 20-24 inches tall and weighing 45-60 pounds while females stand 18-22 inches tall and weigh 35-50 pounds. They have an athletic build with a long neck, wide chest, floppy ears, expressive eyes, and short muzzle. Their coat can be either wiry or soft depending on which parent breed they take after more; their coat can also come in many different colors such as black, white, browns, reds, blues or merles. Temperament The Bordoodle is an intelligent breed who loves spending time with their family. They are active dogs who need regular exercise to stay physically healthy as well as mentally stimulated in order to prevent boredom. They are eager learners who pick up commands quickly when treated with kindness and patience; they make great working dogs due to their intelligence but can also be excellent companions for those looking for a loyal friend. Ideal Home Environment Due to their high energy level, this breed is best suited for families who can provide them plenty of physical activity such as running or agility training; if not provided enough exercise they may become destructive out of boredom. A home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal so that they could safely run off some extra energy when needed; however its important that owners dont leave them alone too often as this breed does not do well when left alone for long periods of time without human interaction due to separation anxiety concerns. Additionally this breed gets along well with other animals if properly socialized at an early age so homes with other pets should work just fine if given proper introduction time. Health & Weight Bordoodles generally live between 12-15 years old depending on health factors such as diet and lifestyle habits; its important to feed them high quality food in appropriate amounts so they dont become overweight which could increase their risk for joint issues like hip dysplasia later on in life. For adults its recommended that they maintain 15% body fat percentage which translates into approximately 1 gram of food per pound of bodyweight per day depending on activity levels. Its also essential that all necessary vaccinations are kept up-to date in order keep them healthy throughout their lifetime. Health Checks & Tests It's important for owners to stay vigilant about any changes in overall health or behavior as these could point towards underlying medical conditions such as allergies, arthritis, epilepsy, eye problems, hip dysplasia, skin issues, thyroid problems etc... To ensure early detection it's recommended by veterinarians that routine checkups happen at least once every 6 months which will include comprehensive physical examinations at each visit along bloodwork testing every 1-2 years. This will help keep your Bordoodle happy and healthy throughout its lifetime! The Bordoodle is an intelligent hybrid crossbreed between the popular Border Collie and Poodle breeds resulting in an active companion dog who loves being around people! This energetic pup needs plenty of physical exercise every day along with mental stimulation through games like agility training or learning tricks/commands; additionally it's essential to monitor diet closely while ensuring all necessary vaccinations remain up-to date throughout its life!
