The breeds pleasant nature also makes them well-suited as therapy dogs or in other situations where they can interact with people regularly. Families with children will find that this breed gets along very well kids when properly socialized from an early age. History The Cavapoo was created in Australia during the late 1990s as a companion dog that was smaller than traditional spaniels but still had similar characteristics in terms of temperament and intelligence levels. The popularity of this hybrid breed spread rapidly throughout Australia before eventually making its way around Europe and North America during the late 2000s - early 2010s period. Today, these pups continue to be sought after due to their affectionate personalities and low maintenance needs compared to other breeds alike in size. Healthy Weight The average weight range for a fully grown adult Cavapoo is between 8-20 pounds depending on their parentage (i.e., if one parent was larger than normal). Generally speaking, these pups should have no problem maintaining a healthy weight as long as they are fed appropriately based on their age/activity level and given regular exercise each day. Important Health Checks Regular checkups by your veterinarian should be done every 6 months in order to ensure your pup remains healthy at all times. During these visits your vet will check your pet's eyes, ears, teeth, heart, lungs, joints, skin & coat health, body temperature, among other things. Additionally its important that you keep up on flea & tick prevention / treatments throughout each season (as necessary) in order keep your pup parasite free at all times. Overall, the Cavapoo is an excellent companion dog option due its friendly personality, intelligence, small size, minimal grooming requirements, and quiet demeanor - making it suitable for many different lifestyles whether you live alone or have children/other pets already established at home. The important part is ensuring regular health checks are done so that any issues can be identified early on before becoming more serious down the road. With proper care & love - this hybrid breed will bring joy into anyone's life!
